Hextable Village Pre-school is a community run pre-school positioned in the heart of Hextable village, surrounded by the beautiful Heritage gardens.
The pre-school has been established since 1989 and it has continued to grow and prosper into a secure, safe and stimulating environment for children aged 2 – 5 years.
The layout includes two fully equipped play areas, a snack bar, and outdoor area to play. This allows integration across the ages, and also separate sessions offering stage appropriate activities to different groups of children.
We plan and prepare our activities according to the needs and interests of every child, this is under guidance of the Early Years Foundation stage and we use online software to track your child’s progress. Each parent can view their child’s observations and assessments via a secure and confidential log in, and we welcome parents to add activities that the child has enjoyed at home, so together we create a portfolio of your child’s learning during their pre-school years.
We put a strong emphasis on our outdoor environment and utilise the Heritage gardens as much as possible to enhance the children’s learning with forest school type activities.
We have an open door policy and parents/grandparents are welcome to attend sessions. Children really benefit from new experiences and therefore we welcome visitors who can share an interest or skill with the children such as baking, craft making, gardening, showing a collection or telling the children about your job.
The pre-school has good working relationships with local primary schools, and work closely to ensure smooth transitions from pre-school to school.
We also maintain good working relationships with the local authority and other professional agencies who may be involved in the care of children. This ensures that any child attending our setting who has additional needs, receive a multi-agency approach to ensure that those needs are met and families feel supported by a team.
